The project responds to the urgent legal needs of families of the missing and affected communities in Homs, particularly related to civil documentation, inheritance, marriage and birth registration, and other essential procedures for access to education, health, housing, and property rights, with a special focus on female-headed households.

Main Activities

  • Specialized Legal Clinic: Establishing the first dedicated legal clinic in Homs to provide free consultations, assistance, and case management.
  • Civil Documentation Support: Assisting at least 150 families in obtaining the necessary certificates such as death, inheritance, marriage, divorce, and birth.
  • Legal Awareness Sessions: Conducting 10 community sessions for at least 120 participants (minimum 60% women) on civil rights and procedures.
  • Policy and Advocacy: Drafting legal reform recommendations to address discriminatory laws and systemic barriers and submitting them to relevant authorities.
  • Outreach and Visibility: Producing seminars, digital materials, and videos to highlight the clinic’s impact and promote institutional support and change.

Impact

The project provides the first organized legal service in Homs, facilitating access to justice and rights for families and vulnerable groups. By combining direct service, awareness, and advocacy, the initiative strengthens resilience, reduces exploitation, and contributes to social stability and long-term transitional justice processes.
