“Hand in Hand to End Violence Against Women”

Amal Center for Advocacy and Healing, in partnership with UN Women, is implementing the project “Hand in Hand to End Violence Against Women,” with the aim of strengthening prevention, protection, and response to gender-based violence among Syrian women in Hatay and Gaziantep. The project provides community outreach, legal services, psychosocial support, case management, and a dedicated and safe hotline.

Main Activities

1- Community Outreach Sessions

Implementing awareness programs targeting Syrian women and girls in hard-to-reach areas of Hatay and Gaziantep, introducing them to available services, their rights, and safe ways to seek help and access support.

2- Legal Guidance and Consultations

Providing both fixed and mobile legal sessions in Gaziantep and Hatay, with practical guidance for navigating legal systems and addressing challenges related to gender-based violence cases.

3- Dedicated Hotline

Operating a safe and confidential hotline for Syrian women and girls in Gaziantep and Hatay, offering immediate response and referral services in line with protection and confidentiality protocols.

4- Awareness Campaigns on Gender-Based Violence

Organizing community campaigns and activities to raise awareness of gender-based violence, empowering women to recognize its forms, report incidents, and seek support, while challenging social norms that perpetuate violence.

5- Case Management

Providing fixed and mobile case management services focusing on needs assessment, referral planning, and regular follow-up to ensure continuity of support and restoration of safety.

6- Trauma-Informed Psychological Counseling

Delivering culturally and contextually sensitive psychological counseling to address the emotional and psychological impacts of sexual and gender-based violence, with accompanying plans that foster recovery and well-being.

7- Participatory Group Psychosocial Support

Facilitating participatory group sessions that provide a safe space for sharing experiences, building peer support networks, and promoting collective recovery, empowerment, and community participation.
