Psychological Support
The Psychosocial Department at Amal Center gives special attention to women and survivors of detention, providing them with comprehensive psychological support programs that help them recover from the effects of trauma and harsh experiences. Its work includes individual and group therapy sessions, emotional release activities, and specialized programs to build coping skills and strengthen resilience. The department also seeks to provide safe spaces where beneficiaries can freely express their feelings, while offering referral mechanisms to specialized services when needed. Great importance is placed on raising awareness about mental health and its role in restoring balance and enabling active participation in society. Through these efforts, the Psychosocial Department contributes to restoring hope and building a recovery path that ensures survivors regain their strength and live with dignity.
Psychological Department Services
Psychological Consultation Service:
This service offers psychological consultations either in person at the center or through the hotline. Sessions may be provided once or across multiple appointments depending on the beneficiary’s needs and case evaluation. The consultation includes active listening, prioritizing needs, and developing a short-term support plan, while maintaining full confidentiality and respecting privacy. It also involves psychoeducation on stress management and coping strategies, along with safe referrals to specialized therapeutic or social support services when necessary, and follow-up to ensure the beneficiary receives the appropriate care.
Referral Service:
This service involves assessing consultations through initial intake to determine the level of risk and need, then directing the beneficiary to the most suitable pathway: specialized individual sessions within the center, or external partnerships with psychological, legal, and social care providers. Referrals are conducted with full confidentiality and the beneficiary’s consent, followed by monitoring to ensure access to the appropriate service and updating the support plan when needed. A brief case record is also maintained to guarantee quality and continuity of care.
Group Psychosocial Sessions:
This service offers group sessions designed to increase awareness of key concepts in mental and social health, and to discuss healthy ways of coping with daily challenges and ongoing stressors. These sessions provide a safe space for emotional release and experience-sharing among participants, helping to build a social support network that fosters belonging and solidarity. They also address strategies for stress management, problem-solving skills, and methods to strengthen psychological and social resilience in the long term.
