Amal Healing and Advocacy Center Joins Digi-Harmony: Building Social Cohesion in Digital Spaces
Amal Healing and Advocacy Center (AHAC) participates as a partner in the Erasmus+ project “Youth-Driven Social Harmony through Digitalization (Digi-Harmony)” (2025–2027), which brings together a number of international partners to address a central question:
How can digital environments enhance social cohesion instead of deepening divisions?
In light of the growing role of digital platforms in shaping youth interactions, identities, and their sense of belonging or exclusion, the project approaches digitalization not merely as a technical issue, but as a social environment influenced by behaviors, emotions, relationships, and power dynamics.
Project Objective
The project aims to understand how digital spaces influence youth relationships, and to develop practical tools that promote positive interaction, inclusion, and social cohesion among local and migrant youth.
Project Activities
- Research and needs assessment through focus group discussions
- Co-creation of digital tools, educational content, and learning activities
- Testing and piloting tools with young people
- Learning, teaching, and training activities (LTTAs)
- Dissemination of results and policy-oriented outputs
AHAC’s Role
ithin Digi-Harmony, AHAC plays a central role in bridging perspectives between local and migrant youth, particularly within the Turkish and Syrian refugee context. Building on its expertise in social cohesion, psychosocial support, and community engagement, AHAC contributes by:
- Facilitating inclusive youth engagement processes
- Leading focus group discussions with diverse youth groups
- Ensuring safe, ethical, and trauma-sensitive participation
- Translating youth experiences into actionable insights
- Supporting the development and testing of digital tools
Kick-Off Meeting in Istanbul
The project officially launched with a Kick-Off Meeting in Istanbul on 19–20 December 2025. This initial phase was essential for aligning partners, defining roles, and establishing a shared vision for digital social cohesion.
For AHAC, this marked the transition from concept to implementation, setting the foundation for active engagement in shaping project outcomes.
Moving Forward
The project has now entered its research phase, focusing on understanding how youth experience digital environments in their daily lives. This includes exploring:
- Patterns of digital platform usage
- Experiences of belonging and exclusion
- Interactions between local and migrant youth
- The role of digital spaces in shaping social relationships
Conclusion
Digi Harmony represents a strategic step in connecting digital transformation with social impact. For AHAC, it aligns directly with its mission to empower communities, amplify marginalized voices, and contribute to building a more inclusive and cohesive society ; both offline and online.
